Galatians

Expository preaching of the New Testament continues to be a valuable, divine communion for me. My goal is always to have a deep communion with the Lord through understanding His Word, and from that experience to explain the meaning of a given passage to His people. In the words of Nehemiah 8:8, I strive to “expound” it so that they will truly hear the voice of God and thus be able to respond to Him.
It is clear that God’s people need to understand Him, which requires knowing His Word of Truth (2 Tim. 2:15) and allowing the Word to dwell in them richly (Col. 3:16). Therefore, the driving force behind my ministry is to help make the living Word of God alive for His people. It is a refreshing and exciting work.
This series of New Testament commentaries pursues the goal of explaining and applying Scripture. Some of the commentaries are linguistic, others theological, and some are preaching. This one is primarily expository. It is not professional in linguistics, but it does deal with linguistics where it can help in accurate interpretation. It is not theologically extensive, but it focuses on the main doctrines of each passage and their connection with the rest of Scripture. It is not primarily preaching, although each unit of thought is treated as a chapter, with a clear analysis and logical chain of thought. The basic truths are illustrated and applied in other parts of Scripture. After presenting the content of the passage, I have tried to follow closely the development of the author’s thought and reasoning.
It is my prayer that every reader will fully understand what the Holy Spirit is saying through a given passage of His Word, that His revelation may penetrate the minds of believers and produce greater obedience and faithfulness, to the glory of our great God.
